A hero
Back at the university, my thesis partner Miguel Fule and I decided the company, the concept of media heroes. Our example was Manny Pacquiao. His success in boxing is outstanding, and his popularity is indeed at the top.
He has numerous support, cited in his speech to deny Philippine sports. With it, our country was as a truck global competitors in the ring, so to speak. He has the privilege to be like a hero when he go home after a victorious battle, and it seems that the media can not get enough of him in a long time.
What have I achieved that, in our study? As for the concept of heroism is changing, but always in a remote future, it can be as good as extinct.
For centuries, the people heroes honored by the transfer of the stories and legends tell of more than one generation to another. Word of mouth is very important to the tribe, as they explore the depths of their faith in revivant these stories.
How is it different than that of today? I believe that my future children learn Pacquiao through textbooks. He is immortal, like one of the greatest athletes ever at the mercy of the Islands Philippines. However, I fear that my children, the children and the future of my colleagues, not the full coverage of the notion of heroism that Pacquiao represented.
Do not get me wrong. I am proud of Pacquiao. I admire his rags for the wealth of history, and I think it is an incredible contender as a hero. The battles, but can not justify the media, which for success.

Corporate social response
People are now asking more and more the question of how the companies in the manufacture of their products and want to know where the materials consisting of identification. The potential customers are now more to do with a case that is taken on board, the social responsibility of companies.
Academics have shown that the companies operate, directly to the social responsibility can succeed in the business better than those who do not.
“In the year 1997 a study by DePaul University found that firms with a commitment of the company defined the ethical principles do better financially (depending on the annual sales / sales) that the companies that do not.”
The social responsibility of business is always voluntary, but that more people are aware, they are only to the purchase of products and goods with the companies that are active, the CSR.
The unfortunate thing is that a large percentage of companies believe that their company for the integration of corporate social responsibility with the spirit would be too expensive. However, this is a misunderstanding.
Knowing the way we relate to the environment, such as the use of too much water, so light, with the open windows, recycling or non-use of recycled materials enfait costs for the companies that it is the practice of social responsibility.

Awareness and action
Have you noticed that there was a significant increase in the amount of spam e-mails in your mailbox: advertising, coupons, credit-approval of ads, and what is not? I have problems with my e-mail is legitimate in the largest part of it, anymore. In my community mail center, there is a trash is comfortable flows unceasingly waste disposal mail. Not only that the Post Office a little harassment, but it is also an extraordinary waste of paper, and it is not reused. In times of Greenpeace and Al Gore inspired quest to the Earth, why no one talks about this issue constantly growing cruelty? Maybe someone, somewhere, but I have not heard of any measures taken to this violence our resources decline.
My theory is that the vehicle resulted in the marketing, the post ‘not react the lists that we have, in order to protect ourselves, the harassment of télévendeurs. Telemarketing is now disappeared paper, and they are tireless in their pursuit of the post. Call me a tree soil, but it is not enough, I hypoactive the various efforts to earth.
“What should we do then?” Was the question of Billy Kwan Guy Hamilton in the 1983 film “The Year of Living Dangerously”, and this question swims through my mind on a variety of ethical and political questions. What should we do? To begin, we must first of all recognize the problem. But the small, but apparently not, we can not simply “do nothing”.

Information technology intellegence
Information and timeliness of information, technical regulations for the certification exams for the training is the main objective in this article. Many people do not know the difference between an IT training and testing for certification training. I want everything about the world, what the differences. The training is in computer science with the classroom or online, while training in the field of career, the information technologies. Let me explain! You may want to be a server administrator. At the beginning, you need to get somewhere in the classroom in order to be well informed about the subject, and perhaps acquire a 2 or 4 years, or to receive what degree-learning with a qualified. You can just wish, take some courses and obtain a certificate in this area. That would be as an education in computer science.
The technologies of the information about the tests for certification of information education is what you need to be fully prepared to take the exam. After training in computer science, you can have a diploma or a certificate, but you have not yet recognized, the certification of Microsoft, CIW and CompTia or others. If you have an education in computer science, which allows you to a server administrator, you will receive certification from Microsoft, CIW or CISCO. Testing for certification of the training focuses on the preparation of your examination. An IT certification exam is unlike any other passages that you had in a college or a school. There are two very important things that in preparation for an examination. They are a good technical investigation and have relevant circumstances in connection with the examination of reality, the current with today’s market.

Injustice: The root cause of corruption
Last April 3rd Thursday, our fellow Star columnist Federico D. Pascual, Jr. wrote in his column Postscript a very explosive article about the National Power Corp. (Napocor) entitled “NAPOCOR GIVES P956-M CONTRACT TO P62,500 FIRM.” What caught my eye was that this firm just happened to be based in Cebu! As we gathered from that article (which he originally wrote in his Mar. 27th column) Napocor awarded a contract to this firm known as PT Marsitero Marloan Prakasrsa/Transpacific Consolidated Resources, Inc. (TCRI) for a coal supply that was grossly out of proportion to its financial capability. Shades of Cris Saavedra’s company?
When I checked my own sources on this story, we ended in a blank wall. Hence I still have to get some info as to whether this company existed in Cebu? Perhaps this is because that company doesn’t have an office in Cebu, but at the business center in Danara Hotel Quezon City or elsewhere?
As Pascual wrote, “Worse, a check with the hotel showed that the business center misrepresented as the TCRI address was no longer operating two months before its address was used. How were the important papers sent and delivered? In the notice of award, TCRI had a new address Room 2405, Atlanta Center in Annapolis, Greenhills, San Juan. Like a nomad, TCRI changes addresses often – from Danao City in Cebu, to the Danara Hotel in Quezon City, to Atlanta Center in San Juan in just three months!”

An ATM tale
During a very recent trip to Leyte, I was witness to a sight that I could not aptly describe. And my gut feeling is that it is a sight that is replicated once a month in every provincial urban center in the entire Philippines.
Last April 1, I accompanied my in-laws, both retired public school teachers in their seventies, to Tacloban, the capital of Leyte, specifically to the lone Union Bank branch there. They were to withdraw their monthly GSIS pension from that bank’s ATM.
The Union Bank is the GSIS depository for teachers pensions and my in-laws’ preference to withdraw their pension from that bank’s ATM was a specific detail that escaped me. Usually, we take for granted the things that make sense to us.
It was when we got to the bank that the whole thing came crashing down on me, crushing me under the weight of something that was inexplicable. There, outside the bank, queueing up to the bank’s two ATMs, were hundreds of old people in varying degrees of physical fitness.
Wow. It was a sight to behold. The two lines of old people queueing up to the two ATMs snaked up and down the sidewalk beside the bank, curving and essing under the agonizing heat of the summer sun.
